I keep telling them to refrain from showing any "food" show at all in the waiting area because all those starving patients haven't eaten for over 24 hours and the last thing they want to watch on TV is a food network!

Had a day very similar last week. Got a call from my husband who was two states away that I needed to pick up our mail order chickens. Went to the post office and the clerk had no idea. She calls the main office....or attempts to for several minutes. We go to the main office about 10 minutes away and get the chicks...100 of them... We get home, open box of chicks and find a horrible sight. About half of them are dead! Ick!! Two of my non-feather allergic children transfer the live chicks to the swimming pool/brooder. One or two more die...Dh is still out of town and will be for a couple of days. I talk to him again....then I contact the hatchery. More chicks due to arrive this week, but we have lost a couple more and then....the neighbors dog gets into the garage which is where the chicks are and feasts on six of them....ARGH!!

I LOVE Rachel Ray, especially now that I have to do PT after breaking my arm in the shower. Most PT days I can watch her and then Dr. Oz in the torture room as I try to gain back mobility and strength. I love how she handles mistakes or surprises. However I feel the same way as you do about Dr. Phil as that show seems to be on wehnever I am stuck waiting somewhere I'd rather not be.

Angie, I have asked you questions from time to time about youth group, home schooling...now vaccines. Do you vaccinate at all? How do you find out your information about which ones to do, if any? I did vaccinate my older kids, now 11 and 12, but they did not get Hep B or chx pox. I, in my ignorant youth, did decide those shots appeared ridiculous to me and did not do those. My younger two have been vaccinated up to a point. Clay never got the ones at 4 (he's 6) and Casadie stopped at 15 mo. She is 3. She really isn't behind, but Clay is. He is also the child that first caused me to give pause on shots. He has allergies and as a baby he reacted poorly after getting shots. He would run high fevers, stomach pains, irritable for days...a week or more. My main concern at this point is chicken pox. I assumed they would catch them, but since everyone is vaccinated no one gets them. I have heard it is worse if you get it as an older person or if you get it while pregnant. I'm wondering if I need to bite the bullet and get that one. I'm also concerned for my allergic child. I am hesitant to EVER get any more shots for him. I realize I will dropped from my pediatrician for not being up to date on shots. Who sees little children in that case? And... We are expecting again. Is there a doctor that would see a newborn that isn't a pediatrician that doesn't care if you vaccinate or will do an alternate schedule?
